We read the story How Full is Your Bucket? to the class. This is a great book to teach students ways to make others feel good as well as making yourself feel good.
After reading the story we brainstormed ways we can be bucket fillers and ways that we can be bucket dippers. The children did a great job brainstorming different ideas.
When we were done our circle we integrated the idea of being a bucket filler into our language centre. We placed a chart with all the names of the students in the class, sticky notes and writing tools. We also brainstormed a number of things to write and placed them on cue cards. The children loved making others feel good!
