The children have had fun exploring 2D shapes over the past few weeks. We decided to take out the geoboards and have the children create shapes with elastics.
Elijah explained to me that him and Joseph made a square with a circle inside and then explained that they were going to work together to try and make a diamond inside of a diamond.
Owen and Lincoln made a hexagon and they said, "Look it has 6 sides!"
Chloe and Addison made a square but when we counted the pegs on each side we realized that they were not all the same. The length of two sides were different then the length of the other two sides. So independently the two of them worked together to correct the sides and created a square with all four sides equal. Way to go girls!
